For this week’s Global Design Project CASE the designer challenge we are CASEing a beautiful card from the talented Charlet Mallett. I decided to follow the basic layout of her card with a fussy cut Zoo Crew yoga sloth as the focal point and the flowers from the Darling Details stamp set for my card.
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
Start with a Crumb Cake cardstock card base. Stamp the speckle image from the Layering Leaves stamp set all over the front of the card base in Petal Pink ink. Cut a Bubble Bath cardstock panel and a Basic White cardstock panel. Dry emboss the Bubble Bath cardstock panel with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Use the Light Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend to color down the middle of the Basic White cardstock panel. Stamp both large flower two step images from the Darling Details stamp set in Petal Pink ink on the colored Basic White cardstock panel. Stamp the small flower image from the Darling Details stamp set between the larger flowers in Bubble Bath ink. Stamp the speckle image from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Petal Pink Ink on the colored Basic White cardstock panel. Add Wink of Stella to the large flowers for sparkle. Glue the Basic White cardstock panel to the embossed Bubble Bath cardstock panel and then glue the panels to the card base.
Cut a Bubble Bath cardstock strip and dry emboss it with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder. Wrap the embossed strip with Bubble Bath Sheer ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends on the back of the strip and then glue the wrapped strip across the lower part of the card front. Fussy cut out a Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper yoga sloth with paper snips. Use Stampin’ Dimesionals to add the sloth to the left of center on the card front overlapping the embossed strip and wrapped ribbon. Stamp a small flower from the Darling Details stamp set in Bubble Bath ink on Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut out the flower with paper snips and then add it to the card front overlapping the sloth with a glue dot and (cut smaller to fit) Stampin’ Dimensional.
Cut a Basic White cardstock sentiment banner, stamp the sentiment from the Darling Details stamp set in Petal Pink ink, and then use paper snips to angle the end. Use a Stampin’ Dimensional to add the sentiment banner to the card front tucked in the right side of the sloth overlapping the embossed strip & wrapped ribbon. Tie a bow with three pieces of Linen Thread and then use glue dots to add it to the card front on the left side of the sloth overlapping the wrapped ribbon. Add the Berry Burst sequins from the Adhesive – Backed Sequins Trio to the small flowers on the card front.
Don’t forget to add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment from the In The Moment stamp set in Petal Pink ink on the inside panel. Then stamp the small flower from the Darling Details stamp set in Bubble Bath ink with the speckle image from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Petal Pink ink the panel’s top left & bottom right corners.
Add an embossed strip of Bubble Bath cardstock to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
