Celebrate Sunflowers Birthday Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

For this week’s Global Design Project I used the gorgeous Celebrate Sunflowers bundle for my CASE of Krista Frattin lovely card. I also added a piece of the fabulous wood grain In Good Taste DSP to create this fun fold card.

Start with a Blackberry Bliss cs card base.

9 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 4″ ( with 5 1/2″ inside/back of the card)

Cut the two In Good Taste DSP wood grain front panels. Use a stamping sponge wedge to add Blackberry Bliss ink to the edges of the DSP panels. Glue the larger panel to the front of the card base and the glue the smaller second panel to the right side of the inside of the card base.

Stamp the large sunflower, small sunflower, and 3 leaves from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White cs. Use Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers & leaves and then die cut out the colored flowers & leaves with the Sunflower dies. Die cut out a sunflower overlay from Early Espresso cs with the Sunflower dies. Die cut out a label with Tasteful Labels dies from Early Espresso cs. Dry emboss the label with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder.

Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center to add the Early Espresso cs overlay to the die cut sunflower. Use glue dots to add the leaves to the back of the sunflower. Use more glue dots to attach some looped untwined Gold Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim combo pack to the back of the left side of the now built sunflower. Add the built sunflower to the embossed Early Espresso cs label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Use Tear & Tape to attach the sunflower and label to the front panel with adhesive only on the left side so the right side hung over the edge of the front panel.

Stamp the sentiment from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set on Whisper White cs. Use the paper trimmer or paper snips to cut out the sentiment. Flag the right side of the sentiment banner with paper snips. Use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment banner to the sunflower and label. Add Gilded Gems to the card front.

Add a Whisper White cs inside panel to the left side to write your message. Stamp the sentiment and glue the smaller sunflower (with a glue dot looped gold trim threads to the back of the sunflower). I also stamped the sentiment and added a strip of DSP to the back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my #GDP244 Celebrate Sunflower Bundle Birthday Card. You can order the Celebrate Sunflower bundle, Old World Paper 3D embossing folder, In Good Taste DSP, Tasteful Labels dies, and the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set in my Online Store.
