At The Pond Beautifully Happy Card

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge. I used the fun January-April 2023 Mini Catalog Host At The Pond stamp set, the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper, and the sentiments from the Sale-A-Bration Beautifully Happy stamp set.

Start with Balmy Blue cardstock card base. Cut a So Saffron cardstock panel and a Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the panels together and then wrap the panels with the Balmy Blue Double-Stitched ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ribbon ends on the back of the panels. Glue the wrapped panels to the card base.

Die cut a Basic White cardstock circle and a Granny Apple Green cardstock scalloped circle with a Layering Circles Dies. Stamp the frog image from the At The Pond stamp set in Memento Black ink on the Basic White cardstock circle. Stamp the inner frog image in 2nd generation (stamped off) Granny Apple Green ink over the frog image. Stamp the water ripples from the At The Pond stamp set in Balmy Blue ink under the frog image. Stamp the grass image from the At The Pond stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink on both sides of the frog above the water ripples. Stamp the flower outline image from the At The Pond stamp set in Memento Black ink on the grass and three times on a Basic White cardstock scrap. Stamp the flower inside image in So Saffron ink over the flower outline images on the grass and scrap. Use the small blending brushes to add So Saffron ink to the top of the stamped circle, Balmy Blue ink to the bottom over the water ripples, and Granny Apple Green ink on the sides of the circle over the stamped grass. Glue the stamped & colored circle to the Granny Apple Green cardstock scalloped circle. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the circles to the slight right of the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon.

Loop and tuck a small piece of Balmy Blue Double-Stitched ribbon around the wrapped ribbon on the left side of the circles so the blue stripe was facing up on both ribbon tails. Use White Baker’s Twine to tie the Balmy Blue Double-Stitched ribbon together with a knot. Tie a double bow with the White Baker’s Twine and use glue dots to attach it over the Balmy Blue Double-Stitched ribbon covering the tied knot. Stamp the sentiment from the Beautifully Happy stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock and fussy cut out the sentiment with paper snips. Use glue dots and a Stampin’ Dimensional (cut to fit) to add the sentiment to the card front on the right side overlapping the circles and wrapped ribbon. Fussy cut out the flowers on the scrap and use glue dots to add two to the card front around the sentiment. Add Wink of Stella to the flowers for sparkle. I also added the retired white Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins (you can substitute with your favorite embellishment) to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. I added a strip of Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card with glue. I stamped the frog outline image in Memento Black ink, frog inside image in 2nd generation (stamped off) Granny Apple Green ink from the At The Pond stamp set on the bottom left of the inside panel above the Designer Series Paper strip. I added the last fussy cut flower with a glue dot to the frog. I stamped the sentiment from the Beautifully Happy stamp set in Memento Black ink to the bottom right of inside and center bottom of the back of the card above the Designer Series Paper strip to pull the theme through.
