Teacher Birthday Cards

Card Measurements and Supply List or this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

School is only a few weeks away from opening here in Southern Arizona and I create teacher themed birthday cards for my bestie to give to her department colleagues throughout the year. This year I used a simple but lovely card design to create all the cards – only changing up the Designer Series Panel to make the quantity I needed. I dipped into my keeper shelf to make these cards – mixing current and retired product. I used the retired Harvest Hello stamp set, the Apple Builder punch, the Stitched Shapes dies, and the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP as well as the currently available sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set and the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Start with a Cherry Cobbler cs card base. Dry emboss the front panel with the Tasteful 3D embossing folder. Cut a retired Classic Christmas DSP panel and a Basic Black cs strip. Glue the DSP panel to the bottom of the card front and then the Basic Black cs strip across the transition between the DSP & embossed card front.

Die cut out a Basic White cs stitched circle with the retired Stitched Shapes dies. Stamp the apple, leaf, & stem from the retired Harvest Hellos stamp set in Memento Black ink on Cherry Cobber cs, Granny Apple Green cs, & Cinnamon Cider cs and then punch them out with the retired Apple Builder punch. Glue the apple & stem to the stitched circle and use a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to add the leaf. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the stitched circle to the center of the card front overlapping the DSP panel, Basic Black cs and embossed card front.

Cut a Basic White cs sentiment banner. Stamp the sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set in Memento Black ink on the sentiment banner and then use paper snips to flag the end. Use glue in the center of the banner to attach the sentiment across the bottom of apple. Add Matte Black Dots to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message.

I added the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamp from the Handmade for You stamp set to adhere to the Angel Policy.

Stamp the sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set and add a DSP strip to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

I hope you enjoyed my Teacher Birthday card and this simple but lovely card layout. You can order the Artistically Inked stamp set and the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder in my Online Store. Be sure to check out all the Designer Series Papers on Sale through August 2nd here!
