The August 2022 Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin Kit might be my very favorite kit!! This gorgeous kit makes nine cards but I just couldn’t help cutting these card bases (& envelopes) to create even more cards! Unfortunately, this kit was so popular that there were no refills available. If they do have full kits they will offer them in about three months but there is never a guarantee that they’re will be more later. I have my fingers crossed that the Sweet Sunflowers Kit will eventually be offered in our Kit Collection!! You can watch my Facebook Live of these projects on my Facebook page here or watch on my YouTube Channel below.

The August 2022 Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin Kit includes elegant watercolor designs that create 9 cards: 3 each of 3 designs with coordinating envelopes. Try out the Twist technique with a sunflower stamp that you can stamp, twist, and stamp again, perfect for a fuller and more detailed floral image. And the coordinating precut pieces will save you so much time!

(Including the Gold Foil Honeycomb Sheets as a FREE gift that will add a bee-utiful golden touch to your projects!

Completed card size: 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (14 x 10.8 cm)

Coordinating Stampin’ Up! colors: Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Evening Evergreen, Melon Mambo, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, and Soft Suede.

Card One –

For this card I mounted the cut card base (4″ x 5 1/4″) on an Old Olive cardstock card base ( 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″) and then created the card following the Paper Pumpkin directions.

I used Thick Basic White cardstock only because I’d discovered I was completely out of Basic White cardstock.

I added a Thick Basic White cardstock inside panel to write my message and stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink. I created the strips (1/2″ x 5″) for the inside and back of the card by cutting up the back half of the original card base and then using my blending brushes to add more Melon Mambo ink and Crushed Curry ink.

Card Two –

For this card I mounted the cut card base (5 1/4″ x 4″) to a Crushed Curry cardstock card base (11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″) and then created the card front following the Paper Pumpkin directions.

I added a Thick Basic White cardstock inside panel to write my message and added a strip (1/2″ x 4″) I cut off the back half of the original card base to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Card Three –

For this card I mounted the cut card base (5 1/4″ x 4″) to a Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel (53/8″ x 4 1/8″) on an Old Olive cardstock card base (11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″). I created the card front following the Paper Pumpkin directions.

I added a Thick Basic White cardstock inside panel to write my message. I stamped the sentiment from the Go To Greetings in Blackberry Bliss ink and added a strip (1/2″ x 4″) of Blackberry Bliss cardstock dry embossed with the Hive 3D embossing folder to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.

Card Four –

For this last card, I used the back half of card 3’s original card base. I mounted the cut card base (5 1/4″ x 4″) to a Crushed Curry cardstock panel (5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″) on an Old Olive cardstock card base (11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″). I stamped the sunflower image in Crushed Curry on Thick Basic White cardstock. I added Crushed Curry ink to the image using my Water Painter. I stamped the flower center image in Soft Suede ink and then rolled the stamp to add a 2nd generation Soft Suede ink edge into the center of the water colored sunflower image. I added water to the flower’s center with my Water Painter to blend the colors a bit. I stamped the leaf twice in Old Olive ink on Think Basic White cardstock. I added Old Olive ink to the leaves with my Water Painter. When dry, I fussy cut out the images with paper snips. I added Wink of Stella to the sunflower for sparkle. I added the sunflower to the card front close to the top right side (so the purple flowers still show) with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tuck the fussy cut leaves under the flower using glue dots. Stamp the sentiment in Old Olive ink on Thick Basic White cardstock and fussy cut out with paper snips. Add the sentiment to the sunflower with glue dots. Add Wink of Stella to the other flowers and add Champagne rhinestones to the card front.

I added a Thick Basic White cardstock inside panel to write my message. I added a strip (1/2″ x 4″) of Crushed Curry cardstock dry embossed with the Hive 3D embossing folder to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through. I stamped the sentiment above the strip on the inside and at the top on the back of the card.
