Stash Sundays - The Gifts of Spring - Christy's Stamping Spot

Happy Easter! Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

I didn’t realize how far I reached into my stash for ‘The Gifts of Spring’ until I found the copyright of 2000 – gulp 19 years back – it doesn’t seem that this stamp set was from that far back. I also have one from 1993 in there I think from one of the word sets I broke apart to group holidays together.

I love this bunny set. It is also one of the first sets I felt confident enough to cut apart. I snipped off the butterflies and mounted them on the sides of other stamp blocks.

Start with a Lemon Lime Twist cs card base. Cut a Crumb Cake cs panel and dry emboss it with the Basket Weave embossing folder.

Stamp the bunnies image from the Retired The Gifts of Spring stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a scrap of Whisper White cs. Color the image with the Stampin’ Blends and then cut it out with the Layering Circles dies. Add Wink of Stella to the bunnies’ ear, eyes, and noses. Use Paper Snips to fussy cut around the tops of the bunnies. Cut small uneven strips of Lemon Lime Twist cs and glue them to the back of the bunnies so it looks like grass behind them. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the bunnies/grass layer to the embossed Crumb Cake layer. Wrap to two pieces of ribbon across the bottom of the bunnies and secure the ribbon to the back of the embossed Crumb Cake cs.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the embossed Crumb Cake cs panel to the card base.

Cut the Whisper White cs sentiment panel and then stamp the sentiment and butterflies from The Gifts of Spring stamp set in Soft Suede ink. Color the butterflies and the sentiment panel’s edges with the Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Stella to the butterflies and around the panel’s edges. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment panel to the top center of the card front. Add Basic Adhesive – Backed Sequins to the card front to finish the card.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped and colored butterflies on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
