Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Clever Cats Card

Sunday August 8th is International Cat Day and I created this fun Clever Cats card with the gorgeous Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper & new Cork Specialty Paper to celebrate!

Start with a Garden Green cs card base. Cut a Hand-Penned DSP panel and a Cork Specialty Paper panel. Wrap the Hand-Penned DSP panel with a piece of Petal Pink Organdy Stripped ribbon using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends on the back. Glue the wrapped DSP panel to the card front. Die cut a label out of the middle of the Cork Specialty paper using the Seasonal Labels dies (save the Cork label for another project). Glue the Cork panel to the card front slightly off center overlapping the wrapped ribbon.

Die cut a Basic White cs Seasonal Label that will fit inside the Cork Specialty Paper panel. Stamp the cat in the box image from the Clever Cats stamp set in Gray Granite ink on the label. Add color to the cat with the Stampin’ Blends. Add Wink of Sella and Shimmery Crystal Effects (be sure to let completely dry) to the cat’s eyes for sparkle. Stamp just the box part of the image on Cork Specialty paper in Gray Granite ink and then fussy cut it out.

I curved the photopolymer sentiment on the clear block so it fit around the cat and I separated the “Have a Perr-fect” part of the sentiment from the “Halloween!” with my scissors (don’t trim the stamp pieces after separating so that you can butt the pieces together to stamp the original sentiment).

Stamp the sentiment (slightly curving it on the block so it fits around the cat) from the Clever Cats stamp set in Garden Green on the label above the cat. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals add the stamped label to the card front so it fits within the die cut in the Cork Specialty paper panel.

Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the fussy cut Cork box over the stamped box image on the card front. Fussy cut flowers from the Hand-Penned DSP. Use glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to add them to the top left corner and bottom right corner of the label. Add Champagne rhinestones to the card front.

Don’t forget to add a Basic White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiments from the Clever Cats stamp set & A Wish For Everything stamp set, added fussy cut Hand-Penned DSP flowers, peeking cat image from the Clever Cats stamp set, and a Cork Specialty paper strip to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
