Rainy Days Rain Or Shine Specialty DSP Card

Card Measurements and Supply List for this project are found at the bottom of this blog post.

The Rain Or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper from the January – April 2023 Mini Catalog is one of my favorites. This fun Specialty Designer Series Paper has adorable critters and lovely patterns that work with the Playing in the Rain dies or as easily fussy cut elements. I used the Specialty Designer Series Paper for panels as well as die cut the image to create this card.

Start with a Balmy Blue cardstock card base. Cut a Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper panel and glue it to the card base. Cut a Balmy Blue cardstock panel and another Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper panel. Glue the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper panel to the Balmy Blue cardstock panel and then glue them both on the left side of the card front.

Die cut out a turtle from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper with the largest hexagon from the Beautiful Shapes dies. Glue the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper hexagon to a piece of So Saffron cardstock. Use paper snips to cut around the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper hexagon to create a So Saffron cardstock layer. Add the hexagons to the card front slightly below center overlapping the all the front panels.

Cut a Basic White cardstock panel, stamp the sentiment from the Playing in the Rain stamp set in Memento Black ink on the panel, and then use a glue dot & Stampin’ Dimensional to add the sentiment to the card front overlapping the lower right side of the hexagons. Fussy cut clouds from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper. use glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensional to add the clouds to the card front – one set at the top right corner and one set overlapping the sentiment & the hexagons. Add the Pool Party Glossy Dots to the card front under the sentiment.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card. Fussy cut a turtle from the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper and glue it to the lower left had side of the inside panel.

I added the Stampin’ Up! copyright stamp from the Limited Edition stamp set to adhere to the Angel Policy.

Stamp the sentiment from the Very Best Occasions stamp set in Memento Black ink on the bottom right above the Designer Series Paper strip to pull the theme through. I also fussy cut out an umbrella from the Rainy Days Rain Or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper and glue it to the back of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my Rainy Days Rain Or Shine Specialty DSP card. You can order the Playing in the Rain stamp set, the Very Best Occasion stamp set, the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper, and the Beautiful Shapes dies in my Online Store.
