Welcome and Thank you for visiting Christy’s Stamping Spot! I’m Christy, an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Southern Arizona, USA. I’m excited to be taking part in the Inspirations in Ink Blog Hop with this fabulous group of Demonstrators!

For this month’s blog hop and November’s PDF Tutorial we’re creating cards from a sketch layout. The fun of a sketch layout is that so many themes & stamp sets can shine. To create my sketch layout blog hop card I used the fabulous Halloween Spells Designer Series Paper with the cute cat from the Potions & Spells stamp set to make this Halloween card.

HALLOWEEN SPELLS 12″ X 12″ DESIGNER SERIES PAPER
$12.50

POTIONS & SPELLS PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET (ENGLISH)
$20.00

Start with a Glorious Grape cardstock card base. Cut two Halloween Spells Designer Series Paper panels. Glue the large panel to the card base.

Cut three Basic White cardstock panels. Stamp two panels with different sentiments from the Playful Ghosts stamp set in Memento Black down the panel. On the third panel stamp the bat & stars image down the panel in Memento Black ink. Color the stars with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend and add dots with the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend. Use the Light Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend to add color around the edges of the the panels. Glue the stamped panels to the smaller Designer Series Paper panel (glue the two on the outside first and then the middle panel). Glue the built Designer Series Paper panel to the card front.

Stamp the cat from the Potions & Spells stamp set in Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock. Fussy cut or use the Potions & Spells dies to die cut out the cat. Color the cat with Stampin’ Blends and add Wink of Stella to the cat’s eyes for sparkle. Use mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the cat to the right side of the card front overlapping the Designer Series Paper panel and the stamped Basic White cardstock panels. Cut a Basic White cardstock sentiment banner and stamp the sentiment from the Potions & Spells stamp set in Memento Black ink. Flag one end with paper snips. Use glue dots and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the banner to the card front overlapping the cat and the stamped Basic White cardstock panels. Add Iridescent Faceted Gems to the card front around the sentiment banner.

Add a Basic White cardstock inside panel to write your message. Add a strip of Halloween Spells Designer Series Paper to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through. Stamp the bat & stars image from the Playful Ghosts stamp set in the top left corner in Memento Black ink and the sentiment from the Potions & Spells stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink above the Designer Series Paper strip.
