Timeless Tropical Pineapple Card

For this month’s Glimmer Gals Team April 2020 Color Challenge given by Lorraine from Lorraine’s Crafting Corner I played with the Timeless Tropical bundle to make my card.

Start with a Soft Sea Foam cs card base and dry emboss the front with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Cut a Soft Sea Foam cs panel and a Gray Granite cs panel. Stamp the Soft Sea Foam cs panel with the large flower from the Timeless Tropical stamp set in Soft Sea Foam ink and then dry emboss it with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Dry emboss the Gray Granite cs panel with the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder. Glue the stamped & embossed Soft Sea Foam cs panel to the embossed card base front. Glue the embossed Gray Granite cs panel to the stamped & embossed Soft Sea Foam cs panel slightly to the left side.

Die cut out a pineapple top and three small leaves with the In the Tropics dies from Soft Sea Foam cs. Dry emboss them with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. Use your Take a Pick tool or Bone Folder to gently push out the pineapple top’s inset leaves for added texture. Glue the pineapple top to the embossed Gray Granite cs panel making sure to not add glue to the inset leaves so they don’t lay flat.

Die cut out a pineapple body with the In the Tropics dies from the Pineapple Punch cs. Be careful to not remove the die cut pieces from the pineapple. Glue the pineapple to slightly overlap the embossed Soft Sea Foam pineapple top – make sure you add glue so that it covers all the die cut pieces so they stay in place.

Stamp the sentiment from the Timeless Tropical stamp set in Gray Granite ink on Whisper White cs. Use a sponge dauber to add Gray Granite ink to the edges of the sentiment panel. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment panel to the card front overlapping the pineapple, embossed Gray Granite cs panel, and the stamped & embossed Soft Sea Foam panel.

Die cut out 9 flowers with the In the Tropics dies from Grapefruit Grove cs. Use your bone folder to curl the flower petals and then use glue to make the flowers offsetting 3 flowers to make one three dimensional flower. Use glue and glue dots to add the built flowers and embossed Soft Sea Foam cs die cut leaves to the card front around the top left of the sentiment panel.

Add Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala self-adhesive sequins to the flower centers. Lightly sponge a small amount of Gray Granite ink to the card front by gently swiping a sponge dauber across the cardstock.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I added embossed Gray Granite cs strips to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
