The night air here in Arizona is finally starting to cool – it’s still hot during the day but the cooler night helps it feel more like October. So I have a fun Fall Special Someone squirrel card to share celebrating the season that also uses the on sale Plaid Tidings DSP.

Start with a Cinnamon Cider cs card base and dry emboss the front with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. Cut a Plaid Tidings DSP panel. Wrap the panel with the Vanilla Open Weave ribbon (from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack) using Stampin’ Seal to secure the ends on the back. Then add a piece of Cinnamon Cider ribbon over the wrapped open weave ribbon by adding Stampin’ Seal to the back of the Cinnamon Cider ribbon (apply while using your Craft sheet) and secure it’s ends to the back of the card. Glue the wrapped panel to the embossed card base.
Die cut & emboss three Pretty Peacock cs leaves with the Stitched Leaves dies. Use glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional to adhere the leaves so they are tucked under the ribbon on the left side of the card front.
Stamp the outline squirrel image from the Special Someone stamp set in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cs. Stamp the inside squirrel image within the squirrel outline image in Cinnamon Cider ink. Die cut out the stamped image with smallest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the stitched circle to the card front overlapping the wrapped ribbon and stitched leaves. Tie a small bow with the Cinnamon Cider ribbon and use glue dots to attach it to the left side of the stitched circle.
Cut the Whisper White cs sentiment panel. Stamp the sentiment from the Banner Year stamp set in Early Espresso ink on the panel. Use glue to add it to the card front tucked slightly under the top of the wrapped ribbon to the right of the stitched circle.
Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped the sentiment from the Gather Together stamp set in Early Espresso ink. I also added a small strip of DSP to the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
