Have you ever tried Mystery Stamping? At the last meeting with my Upline- the talented Lorraine from Lorraine’s Craft Room lead us in a fun Mystery Stamping session. First she releases the 1st clue a few days before the meeting which is to gather the supplies and to cut cardstock & Designer Series Paper that we will need to make the card but we don’t know how the card will look (layout) until we’ve followed all the clues. You can see my cards below and can follow the included clues to make this awesome card for yourself.
Clue #1 – Supplies
- Colored cardstock (color A):
- 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
- 4” x 5-1/4”
- 2-1/16” x 2-1/16”
- Colored cardstock (color B):
- 3-1/2” x 3-1/2”
- Basic White:
- 3-1/4” x 3-1/4”
- Scrap for sentiment (1 1/2″ x 3/4″) and image (1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″)
- 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ inside panel
- DSP:
- 5 coordinating pieces 1” x 1” (can be all different or 2 of one pattern and 3 of another)’
- Two 1/2″ x 4″ strips.
- Sentiment stamp and punch or die to cut it out.
- Image stamp or dies to cut an image from DSP to fit on 2-1/16” x 2-1/16” colored cardstock
- Ink, embossing folder, adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and embellishments.
* This card is portrait orientation.
Clue #2
Emboss the 4” x 5-1/4” piece of color A cardstock and adhere it to the front of the card base. Set aside.
Clue #3
Adhere the 2-1/16” x 2-1/16” piece of color A cardstock to the top right of the 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” piece of Basic White, leaving a very small margin.
Clue #4
Adhere the 1” x 1” pieces of DSP to the left and bottom of the 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” Basic White piece (in an L shape around the 2-1/16” x 2-1/16” piece of color A cardstock)
Clue #6
Stamp an image on a scrap of Basic White and die cut or fussy cut it OR die cut or fussy cut an image from your DSP.
If your image needs to be colored, do this now.
Adhere the image to the 2-1/16” x 2-1/16” color A cardstock.
Clue #7
Adhere the 3-1/2” x 3-1/2” piece of color B cardstock to the top front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals or glue.
Clue #8
Stamp your sentiment on a scrap of Basic White. Fussy cut, punch, or die cut your sentiment. Adhere the sentiment panel to the bottom front of the card or over the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
And don’t forget to add the inside panel to write your message. Stamp the sentiment and add a strip of DSP to the inside panel and back of the card to pull the theme through.
Clue #9
Does your card need any embellishments? If so, add them now. Otherwise, your card is finished.
