Glimmer Gal Sketch Challenge - Lovely As A Tree

My fellow Glimmer Gal, Theresa, gave us this sketch challenge. I couldn’t resist using Lovely As A Tree stamp set. I was sad to learn that Lovely As A Tree is on the retired list and won’t be in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. If you don’t yet have this awesome stamp set that is a piece of Stampin’ Up! history, you should get it before it’s gone.

Start with the retiring Lemon Lime Twist In Color cs for the card base. I dry embossed just the front half of the card base with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. Cut the Soft Suede cs panel, dry emboss it with the Subtle embossing folder and then glue it to the embossed card front.

Stamp the tree image from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set on a scrap of Whisper White cs in Soft Suede ink. Color the tree leaves with the Lemon Lime Twist marker, trunk with the Soft Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend, and the the grass in Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend. Cut out the image with the (2 3/8″) stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes dies. Glue the stamped and colored stitched circle centered over the embossed Soft Suede cs panel and in the middle of the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the Healing Hugs stamp set on a Whisper White cs scrap in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Cut out the sentiment with the Stitched Rectangle die (7/8″ x 2 3/4″). Then flag the sentiment using the same Stitched Rectangle die by placing one corner of the die on the end so it flags or cuts out a triangle when you run it through your die machine.

Cut a piece of ribbon (2 3/4″) – I used the new 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim (Available June 4th). Use Tear & Tape to adhere the ribbon to the back of the stamped stitched sentiment banner and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the banner to the card front overlapping the stitched circle and embossed Soft Suede cs. Color rhinestones with the Dark Soft Suede Blend and attach them to the sentiment banner for sparkle.

Don’t forget to add a Whisper White cs inside panel to write your message. I stamped another sentiment from the Warm Hugs stamp set in Soft Suede ink on the inside panel. I also stamped and colored leaves in Soft Suede ink/ Lemon Lime Twist marker on the inside and back of the card to pull the theme through.
